DHAKA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's total goods export income in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year (FY) ending this month increased 2.01 percent year on year to 51.54 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the latest official statistics of the Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the country shipped goods worth 4.07 billion dollars in May, the 11th month of the current fiscal year 2023-24 (July 2023-June 2024), which was 16.06 percent lower than the same month a year ago.
Bangladesh set its export target in the 2023-24 fiscal year at 62 billion dollars, including over 52 billion dollars from ready-made garment products.
In the July-May period, according to the EPB, Bangladesh earned 43.85 billion dollars from garment exports with knitted items such as T-shirts and woven items such as jeans rising 2.86 percent. ■
