JINAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Seven people, previously trapped in a flooded coal mine in east China's Shandong Province, were found alive on Tuesday afternoon, according to rescuers on site.
Currently, five have been brought to the ground and sent to hospital for treatment, with their health conditions stable. The other two workers will be rescued soon, said the rescuers.
The flooding occurred at around 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Huafeng coal mine in Ningyang County in the city of Tai'an. Among the 10 people working underground, two managed to escape while eight were trapped.
After a 72-hour research and rescue operation, one miner was found dead and seven others were found trapped underground. ■
