ISTANBUL, June 2 (Xinhua) -- A troupe of artists from China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region presented a performance of China's ethnic music and dance in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul on Sunday.
The event, organized by the Consulate General of China in Istanbul, took place at a prestigious concert hall on the European side of the city.
Addressing the guests, Wei Xiaodong, consul general of China in Istanbul, said China is a multi-ethnic country with 56 ethnic groups "holding together tightly."
"Through continuous exchange and integration of various ethnic groups over thousands of years, the Chinese nation has become a big family," he noted, adding that the show presented by the artists revealed the unique culture and joyful life of Chinese ethnic groups. ■
