MANILA, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Three people died and seven others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Quezon province, southeast of the Philippine capital Manila, before dawn on Sunday, local police said.
Initial investigation showed that the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. local time along a highway in Tiaong town when a van attempted to overtake a vehicle, sideswiping another southbound vehicle and colliding with a northbound passenger bus in the opposite lane.
The three deaths, including a nine-year-old boy, were passengers of the van, police added. Seven other van passengers were injured.
There were no reported casualties from the other vehicle and passenger bus. ■
