MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan, June 1 (Xinhua) -- At least five commuters were killed and five others injured in a road accident in north Afghanistan's Balkh province on Friday, Mohammad Essa Wasiq, the spokesperson for the provincial police department, said on Saturday.
The accident occurred after two vehicles collided due to overspeeding and overturned on a road in the Sholgara district, the official said.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, he added. ■
