Kairuki said that among UN Tourism's best-performing destinations from January to December 2023, Tanzania ranked second in Africa and 12th in the world for attracting tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earnings from the tourism industry increased from 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 to 3.4 billion dollars in 2023, Kairuki said.
