DAMASCUS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A car bomb detonated in a residential area of Homs, central Syria, on Thursday, injuring at least one person, the Syrian national TV reported.
Citing a police department statement, the report said the car went off in the al-Shamas neighborhood, with no further information about the perpetrators or the owner of the car.
Additionally, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported an explosion caused by a car bomb on the outskirts of Homs city, saying three people were injured.
The incidents come just five days after a car bomb on Damascus' Mezzeh Highway killed one person inside the vehicle. Three nearby parked cars were also destroyed.
So far, no groups have claimed responsibility for the explosions. ■
