BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay a state visit to China on May 29-31.

During his visit, he will also attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

Born in 1961, Sheikh Mohamed became the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council in 2004. From 2004 to 2022, he served as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi. In May 2022, he became the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the president of the UAE.

Sheikh Mohamed is friendly to China and attaches great importance to developing relations with China.

He accompanied Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the UAE on a visit to China in May 1990, and has visited China five times, namely in August 2009, March 2012, December 2015, July 2019, and February 2022.
