KUWAIT CITY, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre in Kuwait City was lightened up with the vibrant rhythms and colors of the grand musical and dance show titled "Xinjiang is a Nice Place" on Tuesday evening, captivating the local audience with its mesmerizing display.

Featuring a mix of dance, vocal music, epic chanting, and displays of intangible cultural heritage, the show highlighted the diverse and rich cultural heritage of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Artists from the Xinjiang Art Theatre performed 14 highly distinctive ethnic song and dance acrobatics programs in Mandarin, Uighur, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Mongolian languages, all embodying the spirit of unity within the Chinese nation.

Approximately 600 attendees, including Kuwaiti dignitaries from the Emir's Palace, Supreme Council for Planning and Development, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as members of the Kuwaiti royal family, university representatives, and entrepreneurs, witnessed the performance.

Addressing the audience prior to the commencement of the performance, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Zhang Jianwei underscored China's unwavering commitment to nurturing mutual understanding and fostering shared prosperity through cultural exchanges.

"Today's performance offers our Kuwaiti friends a window into the dynamic and forward-thinking spirit of the people of Xinjiang as they endeavor for a brighter tomorrow in this new era," remarked the ambassador.

The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Chinese Network of International Culturalink Entities. It was hosted by the China Cultural Center in Kuwait and the Xinjiang Art Theater.
