PHNOM PENH, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia called on businessmen, entrepreneurs, investors and producers to participate in the 21st China-ASEAN Expo, to be held on September 24-28 in Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to a Ministry of Commerce's announcement on Wednesday.

"The China-ASEAN Expo is a significant platform for trade and investment exchanges between China and ASEAN member states," the announcement said.

"As a co-organizer, the Ministry of Commerce would like to invite all Cambodian businessmen, entrepreneurs, investors, and manufacturers, who are seeking new business partners in China and ASEAN, to register for this expo," it added.

Joseph Matthews, a senior professor at the BELTEI International University in Phnom Penh, said China and ASEAN have become the largest trading partners and their bilateral trade volume has maintained strong momentum of growth.

"The expo will help accelerate the momentum of the current trade and economic cooperation between China and ASEAN, and through it, trade and investment volumes between the two sides will continue to grow stronger," he told Xinhua.

ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
