BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will pay a state visit to China from May 29 to June 1.
During the visit, King Hamad will also attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.
King Hamad, born in 1950, became the Crown Prince in June 1964. He once served as the Minister of Defense and the commander-in-chief of the Bahrain Defense Force. In March 1999, he ascended to the throne as Emir and adopted the title of King in February 2002.
Hamad is friendly to China and places great importance on developing relations with China. In September 2013, he visited China and attended the opening ceremony of the China-Arab States Expo. ■
