YANGON, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 123.2 kg of heroin, 5.65 million stimulant tablets and 52 kg of opium in eastern Myanmar's Shan State, the state-run television channel MRTV citing police sources reported late Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Nawnghkio Township of northern Shan State on May 19 and confiscated the narcotics, the report said.
A total of eight suspects were arrested, it said.
The seized narcotics are worth 4.75 billion kyats (over two million U.S. dollars), the report said. ■
