JERUSALEM, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Israel on Sunday announced a 700-million-shekel (over 191 million U.S. dollars) incentive plan to encourage leading researchers to return to the country, according to a statement by the Israeli Finance Ministry.
The plan aims to strengthen academic excellence in research and development and preserve Israel's position at the forefront of global innovation, the statement said.
Over a span of seven years, the plan will provide senior researchers who return to Israel with research grants and dedicated budgets to set up advanced research laboratories. ■
