ISLAMABAD, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Seven soldiers and 23 terrorists were killed in three separate operations in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the military said on Monday.
The security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Peshawar, Tank and Khyber districts of KP, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement.
Six terrorists were killed during a clash between security forces and terrorists in Hassan Khel area of Peshawar, the statement said, adding that two soldiers including an officer were also killed.
In a separate operation in Tank district, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists' location, killing 10 terrorists on the spot, said the ISPR.
In the operation in Khyber district, security forces killed seven terrorists and injured two others. However, five soldiers lost their lives.
The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered, adding that the killed terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and civilians.
Clearance operation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. ■
