BEIRUT, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Two Lebanese Hezbollah members were killed, and three civilians were injured on Friday in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Lebanon's southeastern village of Mays al-Jabal, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The sources, who spoke anonymously, said that members of the Civil Defense and the Islamic Health Authority worked to remove the rubble of the house, which was targeted by an Israeli warplane with four air-to-surface missiles, and transported the two bodies and three wounded to Mays al-Jabal Governmental Hospital.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said its fighters used drones and Katyusha missiles to attack several Israeli military sites, including Bayad Blida, Ruwaisat al-Alam, the Evin Menachem settlement, and a gathering of soldiers in Sarawat Triangle, opposite the town of Yaroun.
Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated on Oct. 8, 2023, following a barrage of rockets launched by Hezbollah toward Israel in solidarity with Hamas's attack on Israel the day before. Israel then retaliated by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon. ■
