TOKYO, May 23 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out at a residential house in Tokyo on Thursday, leaving four people in a state of cardiac arrest, local media reported.
According to the Tokyo Fire Department, the fire broke out at around 1:30 p.m. local time at a two-story house in Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward. Five people have been rescued so far, and four of them are in a state of cardiac arrest, public broadcaster NHK said.
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the accident. ■
