NIAMEY, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers and a civilian were killed on Wednesday in an attack in Niger's western Tillabery region, the country's Defense Ministry said.
The attack was carried out by "terrorists on about 20 motorcycles" in the village of Tabala in the region, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry.
It was the second attack in the area in a week after armed bandits killed about 20 people in another village in Tillabery, local media reported.
The village of Tabala has been ravaged by recurrent deadly extremist attacks for years. ■
