JERUSALEM, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Romania won three gold medals at the athletics Jerusalem Grand Slam, held at Givat Ram Stadium on Sunday, with 24 teams participating.

Romania's Maria Mihalache came first in the women's 100-meter race with a time of 11.64 seconds, just two-hundredths of a second ahead of Israel's Alina Drutman.

Romania also secured gold in the women's triple jump, as Diana Ion won with a leap of 14.07 meters, just one centimeter ahead of Lithuania's Dovile Kilty.

Romania's third gold came in the women's 2,000-meter steeplechase, with Stella Rutto finishing first at 6:14.76 minutes.

Israel's Blessing Afrifah, the European U23 champion, took gold in the men's 200-meter race with a time of 20.47 seconds, while his compatriot Yonathan Kapitolnik won the high jump competition by clearing 2.15 meters.

Carlos Nascimento of Portugal won the men's 100-meter race in 10.30 seconds, ahead of Dutch runner Taymir Burnet, who finished in 10.41 seconds, and Latvia's Roberts Janis Zalitis, who clocked 10.48 seconds.

Other gold medalists in the men's events included Spain's Daniel Cisneros in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.63 seconds, Hungary's Balazs Vindics in the 800-meter run at 1:48.75 minutes, Cyprus's Apostolos Parellis in the discus throw with 62.11 meters, and Serbia's Strahinja Jovancevic in the long jump with a jump of 7.87 meters.
