JAKARTA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- South Korea earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over China to finish third at the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup in Bali, Indonesia on Sunday.

The victory means the 2009 Asian Cup winner joins Japan and DPR Korea to represent Asia at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3.

Goals by Casey Phair in the 13th and 84th minutes canceled out China's equalizer from Dong Yujie in the 81st minute.

Later in the day, Jon Il Chong scored the only goal in the final as DPR Korea defeated Japan 1-0 to clinch the title.

DPR Korea had a perfect record of five wins without conceding a single goal at the tournament.
