COLOMBO, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with founder and CEO of SpaceX Elon Musk in Indonesia during the 10th World Water Forum on Sunday, Sri Lankan President's Media Division (PMD) said in a statement.
Wickremesinghe discussed the implementation of Starlink in Sri Lanka and told Musk that he is committed to fast-tracking the application process to connect Sri Lanka with the global Starlink network, the PMD said.
Meanwhile, posting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Sri Lankan Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development Jeevan Thondaman, who accompanied Wickremesinghe to Indonesia, said the president and Musk discussed Sri Lanka's recovery, economic potential and new opportunities for investment.
Musk arrived in Bali on Sunday ahead of the planned launch of SpaceX's Starlink Internet service in the Southeast Asian country. ■
