NEW YORK, May 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted Kermadec Islands, New Zealand, at 20:58:21 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 140.8 km, was initially determined to be at 29.23 degrees south latitude and 178.29 degrees west longitude. ■
