BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Meizhou Hakka FC defender Pan Ximing has been suspended for six matches after he stamped on a Beijing Guoan player in a Chinese Super League game.
The 31-year-old Pan was also fined 60,000 yuan, according to a Chinese Football Association statement released on Tuesday night.
In the 74th minute of that game played last Saturday in Beijing, "after the referee whistled to halt play, Pan misbehaved by stamping on a Beijing player, who was lying on the ground, in the groin," wrote the statement.
Pan was consequently sent off, leaving the Meizhou side having to play with one man less.
Beijing Guoan, then 2-0 behind, scored three goals in a span of eight minutes to win the game 3-2. ■
