SEOUL, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) stressed the imperative to faithfully carry out military production plans for war preparations during his inspections of weapons and military equipment manufacturers over the past few days, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Wednesday.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, learned on Tuesday about the tactical missile weapon systems to be newly equipped by the country's missile units, as he used the occasion to stress the need to carry out the munitions production plans for 2024 "without fail," in a bid to "bring about an epochal change" in war preparations, said the report.
Over the last weekend, Kim visited the main enterprises responsible for producing advanced precision munitions and major small arms and learned about the production of updated 240 mm multiple rockets launchers in separate inspections, during which he called on the country's major defense industrial enterprises to carry out the munitions production plan "in a qualitative way" and "without fail," KCNA said Monday. ■
