SHENYANG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang has stressed efforts to strengthen scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, and actively foster and develop new quality productive forces to make new breakthroughs in pursuit of the full revitalization of northeast China.

Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during his research tour from Tuesday to Thursday in Dalian and Shenyang in northeast China's Liaoning Province. He also presided over a symposium in Shenyang.

In Dalian, Ding said collaborative innovation by bringing together enterprises, academia, and research institutes should be promoted, while enhancing enterprises' leading role in sci-tech innovation.

In Shenyang, Ding urged continued efforts in developing the advanced manufacturing sector, and making progress in high-end, intelligent and green development.

At the symposium, Ding called for pursuing industrial innovation led by sci-tech innovation, and more efforts in accelerating the development of new quality productive forces.
