JAKARTA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and two others were critically injured after a passenger train hit a car in Indonesia's Pasuruan regency in East Java province on Tuesday morning, local police said.
Pasuruan Police Deputy Chief Andria Diana Putra said that the fatal accident occurred at around 8:40 a.m. local time when a car with seven people on board trespassed at a railroad crossing without a bar gate in Rejoso subdistrict.
Putra said that the car was hit by a passing train and severely damaged as it bounced off about 150 meters, adding that officers were still investigating the cause of the trespassing incident. ■
