ROME, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Sassuolo completed a double-kill over Inter Milan in Serie A as the relegation battlers beat Inter Milan 1-0 on Saturday.
Having clinched the 20th Serie A title in April, Inter only conceded one defeat this season before Saturday when they sank at San Siro with a 2-1 setback to Sassuolo in last September.
The home side were majorly outclassed throughout the game but they broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Denzel Dumfries was caught napping and Josh Doig assisted for Armand Lauriente to drill home.
Lautaro Martinez had equalized for Inter before the break, but it was wiped out due to offside.
Sassuolo were increasingly pegged back in the second-half, while Inter were toothless to turn it around.
Despite the much-needed victory, Sassuolo still rank in penultimate place with 29 points.
Also on Saturday, Milan Djuric's double helped Monza hold Lazio 2-2. ■
