MALE, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The Maldives was Friday in talks with Türkiye over exporting 214 goods items to the latter at zero percent tariff under a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA), Maldives government news portal Public Service Media (PSM) said on Friday.
Citing the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, it said the two countries started their talks aiming to formulate an FTA at the end of March, and the current discussions represent the second round of the talks, which began on Thursday.
The PSM said the Maldives has reached an agreement with Türkiye to ensure a sufficient supply of staple foods to the South Asian country. ■
