RIO DE JANEIRO, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Argentine giants Boca Juniors missed the chance to go top of their Copa Sudamericana group on Thursday with a 4-2 away loss to Brazil's Fortaleza.
Juan Lucero and Yago Pikachu scored twice each for the hosts while Miguel Merentiel and Kevin Zenon were on target for Boca.
The result leaves Boca second in Group D with four points, five points behind leaders, Fortaleza.
"We'll have to get every point available to us in the last three games to have any chance of going through [to the knockout stage]," Boca manager Diego Martinez said.
In other Copa Sudamericana fixtures on Thursday, Nacional de Asuncion drew 2-2 at home to Racing CM, Lanus won 2-0 at Metropolitanos,
Always Ready prevailed 2-0 at Cesar Vallejo and Independiente de Medellin edged to a 2-1 home win over Defensa y Justicia. ■
