BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- World Book and Copyright Day, which is observed annually on April 23, is an annual celebration to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. Each year, people all over the world would mark this occasion to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures.

According to Zhang Qi, a restorer of ancient books in the library of Jilin University, the school has been carrying out the restoration work of ancient books since the 1950s, which has never been interrupted for decades.
