The Bashan Games, dubbed the 'Mini-Olympics in Mountains,' commenced once again at Bashan Railway Station in the Qinba Mountain Area of northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Thursday.
The annual mass sports event, spanning 43 editions since its inception in 1981, sees railway staff and local residents joining forces in spirited competition.
Over the years, the original intent of railway workers engaging in sports for fitness and leisure has remained steadfast. Sports have emerged as a unifying force, forging bonds of friendship between the workers and the local residents.
