WELLINGTON, April 19 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand foreign minister, and science, innovation, technology and defense minister will engage in Anzac diplomacy next week in Türkiye and Belgium.

Anzac Day, which falls on April 25, marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (Anzac) in World War I on Turkey's Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915.

Foreign Minister Winston Peters will represent the New Zealand government at Anzac Day commemorations on the Gallipoli Peninsula next week, and engage with senior representatives of the Turkish government in Istanbul, a New Zealand government statement said on Friday.

The day, dubbed as "the national day of unity," is traditionally observed with dawn services, commemorative marches and remembrance services to commemorate everyone who served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
