PHNOM PENH, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia has recorded more than 110,000 foreign tourists traveling across the country during its four-day traditional New Year holiday, according to a Ministry of Tourism report released on Wednesday.

"During the New Year celebrations from April 13 to April 16, a total of 110,322 foreign holidaymakers had traveled across the country," the report said.

Five most attractive destinations for foreign tourists during the holiday are Pailin province on the border with Thailand, Preah Sihanouk coastal province, Phnom Penh capital city, Siem Reap cultural province and Svay Rieng province on the border with Vietnam, the report added.

For domestic tourists, the report said almost all of the population had traveled to various tourist destinations throughout the Southeast Asian country.

"Overall, security, safety and public order had been maintained well during the New Year holiday," the Tourism Ministry's secretary of state and spokesperson Top Sopheak said in the report.

The traditional New Year, or Songkran festival, is the largest annual holiday in Cambodia. On the occasion, revelers participate in religious ceremonies, visit their families in home provinces and go to different tourist attractions for leisure.

Cambodia is renowned for the Angkor Archaeological Park in northwest Siem Reap province. Besides, it has a 450-km pristine coastline stretching across four southwestern provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong.
