NEW DELHI, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Tehran has conveyed to New Delhi that it will soon allow the Indian authorities to meet the 17 Indian crew members onboard a cargo vessel linked with Israel that was recently seized by the Iranian military near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks during a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar on Sunday evening, according to a release by Iran's foreign ministry.

During the conversation, Jaishankar expressed concern about the situation of the Indian crew members on the ship and requested the Iranian side's assistance in this regard.

Jaishankar also mentioned the release of the Indian crew members. "Discussed the current situation in the region. Stressed the importance of avoiding escalation, exercising restraint and returning to diplomacy," Jaishankar wrote on social media.
