HONG KONG, April 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 hit New Britain region, Papua New Guinea at 1043 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 81.2 km, was initially determined to be at 5.24 degrees south latitude and 151.90 degrees east longitude. ■
