RIO DE JANEIRO, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Palmeiras recovered from a goal down to secure a 3-1 home victory over Uruguayan side Liverpool Montevideo in their Copa Libertadores group match on Thursday.

Jean Rosso gave the visitors the lead in the third minute but Anibal Moreno and Jose Lopez struck either side of halftime to hand the hosts the lead.

Impressive 16-year-old Estevao Willian put the result beyond doubt by scoring in his Copa Libertadores debut with a glancing header from the edge of the six-yard box.

After the match, Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira sought to temper the hype surrounding Estevao amid reports linking him with a move to Barcelona.

"He did well tonight, but he and the other younger players need to be careful about what the press says about them," Ferreira said. "They need to keep things in perspective because too much praise can be damaging. They need to focus on training well while trusting in our club, which has the structure to help them."

The result leaves Palmeiras top of Group F with four points from two games, ahead of Ecuador's Independiente del Valle on goals scored. Liverpool are third in the group with just one point so far.

In other Copa Libertadores fixtures on Thursday, Argentine outfit River Plate won 2-0 at home to Uruguay's Nacional, Bolivar won 3-2 at home to Millonarios, and LDU Quito won 1-0 at home to Botafogo.
