TASHKENT, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Three people were drowned in a canal here, Uzbek media reported Friday.
According to eyewitnesses, a five-year-old boy fell into a canal from the embankment on Wednesday. A woman nearby jumped into the water, but was carried away by the current. Another man who tried to save both of them was also drowned.
Local emergency personnel have found the bodies of the child and woman. The search for the man is still underway. ■
