BISHKEK, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev on Tuesday met here with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, with both sides agreeing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the status quo and prospects for strengthening bilateral strategic and fraternal relations between the two countries, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

They pledged to increase trade between the two countries, and intensify investment in the transportation and logistics sectors, as well as renewable energy sources and hydropower, the press service said.

The two sides also discussed the upcoming mutual high level visits this year, the construction of infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, the resumption of Baku-Bishkek roundtrip flights, and strengthening cultural exchanges.

In addition, they called for continuing cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

The ministers also discussed current international and regional issues, and the situation in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Ukraine.
