AMMAN, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian military announced on Tuesday the completion of 14 humanitarian aid air drops over Gaza, delivering supplies such as clothing, food, children's toys, and sweets to both the northern and southern regions of the enclave.

According to the state-run Petra news agency, the military described the operation as "the largest air drop operation" in Gaza. The initial phase targeted the southern areas with aircraft from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Indonesia. The second phase focused on the northern regions, deploying additional Jordanian aircraft alongside those from the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Britain, and France.

The relief aid, which included boxes of food and other materials from the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, was intended as a gesture of solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing conflict with Israel, with the aim of alleviating the challenging conditions faced by Gazan residents during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, the Jordanian military stated.

Since the onset of Israel-Hamas conflict on Oct.7, 2023, the Jordanian military has conducted a total of 77 air drops, with an additional 170 conducted in cooperation with other countries.
