KABUL, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's security forces have seized illegal weapons in the eastern Paktia province, the country's Ministry of Interior Affairs said Tuesday.
The confiscated weapons were discovered following a military operation in Dand Patan district, including 58 pistols, and one person was arrested in connection with the case, the ministry said.
The Afghan caretaker government, since assuming power in August 2021 in the wake of the withdrawal of the U.S.-led troops from Afghanistan, has rounded up thousands of weaponry across the country and warned of stern action if anyone carries and smuggles arms. ■
