JERUSALEM, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The annual International Mediterranean Tourism Market fair was launched Wednesday in Israel's coastal city of Tel Aviv, said the country's Ministry of Tourism.

The event, now in its 30th year, is being held in a scaled-down format due to the Israel-Hamas conflict and features exhibitors from 15 countries and regions.

Participants include national and regional tourist offices, airlines, hotels, cruise lines, car rental companies, ground agents, tour operators, trade associations and technology providers.

The two-day event was officially opened by Israeli Minister of Tourism Haim Katz, in the presence of senior officials from the Israeli tourism industry and foreign delegates.

The ministry highlighted that this year's fair focuses on post-conflict preparation, emphasizing the sector's importance.

The event comprises lectures and discussions on such themes as tourism rehabilitation in conflict-affected regions, investing in hotels during crises, technological innovations for hotels, and innovative insights from tourism research.
