TOKYO, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Japan's weather agency on Wednesday issued a tsunami warning for islands of the southern Okinawa prefecture.
The warning expected 3-meter-high waves to be rapidly approaching Miyakojima and Yaeyama islands and will arrive at Okinawa Main Island region at around 10:00 a.m. local time, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.
The agency urged residents in affected local areas to evacuate as quickly as possible. ■
