DHAKA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's exports in the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July 2023-June 2024) grew by 4.39 percent to 43.55 billion U.S. dollars.
According to official statistics of the Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released on Tuesday, export earnings stood at 5.10 billion dollars in March registering 9.88 percent growth over the corresponding month of the previous year.
The overall growth was largely attributed to the demand for ready-made garments. The EPB said shipments of ready-made garments, comprising knitwear and woven items, totaled 37.20 billion dollars in July-March, up 5.53 percent.
Bangladesh set its export target in the 2023-24 fiscal year at 62 billion dollars, including over 52 billion dollars from ready-made garment products. ■
