HANOI, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues increased 8.2 percent year on year in the first three months of this year to over 1.5 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (60.05 billion U.S. dollars), according to the General Statistics Office.

Vietnam's goods retail sales stood at over 1.1 quadrillion dong (44.03 billion dollars), up 7 percent year-on-year during the cited period, with the sales of cultural and educational equipment and items growing 17.7 percent, home appliances expanding 15 percent and food increasing 11.8 percent.

From January to March, the restaurant and accommodation revenues increased 13.4 percent, and tourism revenues surged 46.3 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the office.

Last year, Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues surged 9.6 percent year-on-year to approximately 6,231.8 trillion dong (256.7 billion dollars).
