ABUJA, April 2 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 people were killed when a truck rammed into a commercial bus in Nigeria's north-central state of Kogi recently, the traffic police said.
Two others were injured in the crash late Sunday at a market in the state's Obajana area, said Samuel Oyedeji, the commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kogi, in a statement obtained Tuesday morning by Xinhua.
The driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into the parked bus, while passengers were buying goods at the market, Oyedeji said.
A fire broke out following the crash and "burned virtually all the passengers" inside the bus, the statement said.
The two vehicles, another truck and a motorcycle were razed by the fire, Oyedeji said, adding that the two injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. ■
