MOSCOW, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Seven were injured after Ukrainian drone strikes on enterprises and an oil refinery in Russia's Tatarstan Republic on Tuesday.
According to local authorities, two of the drones hit a dormitory in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. Another attempted an attack on the Taneko oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk but was intercepted by Russia's electronic warfare systems.
The attack did not cause serious damage or disrupt the work of the enterprises, said Rustam Minnikhanov, president of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan.
This incident marks the first known drone attack on businesses within the Tatarstan Republic, according to TASS news agency.
Tatarstan is situated east of Moscow and west of the Ural Mountains. It is within Russia's inland territories and far from the Russian-Ukrainian border. ■
