AMMAN, April 1 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday reaffirmed their rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, or to separate them, warning of the serious consequences of any military operation in Rafah.

They made the remarks at a meeting in Amman, where they emphasized the need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and a comprehensive cessation of hostilities in Gaza, according to a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.

King Abdullah thanked Egypt for its ongoing efforts to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

The two leaders stressed the importance of continuing efforts to open border crossings and removing all obstacles to the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of Gaza as required.

They emphasized the necessity of finding a political horizon for the Palestinian issue to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
