YANGON, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized over 1 million stimulant tablets in the central region of Myanmar, according to a statement by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) late Sunday.

Acting on a tipoff, anti-narcotic police searched a motorcycle in Kyaukchaw Village in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region on March 23 and seized 40,000 stimulant tablets along with two suspects.

Additionally, 5,800 stimulant tablets were seized from two suspects' houses in Mandalay region, 100,000 tablets were seized in Patheingyi Township on Tuesday and 860,000 stimulant tablets were seized in Pyigyitagon Township on Wednesday.

The investigation revealed that the seized drugs were being carried from Shan State to the Mandalay Region.

The suspects involved in the cases were charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it said.
