COLOMBO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- The indicative rate of the U.S. dollar against the Sri Lankan rupee reached the 300 rupee level on Monday for the first time since June 13, 2023, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) data.

The rupee has been gaining against the dollar in the last few weeks. The official exchange rates announced by the CBSL put the buying rate of the dollar at 295.57 rupees and the selling rate at 305.10 rupees. The indicative rate is 300.40 rupees.

Indicative exchange rates are derived based on world currency rates against the dollar at the beginning of the business day, CBSL said.
