GENEVA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Ingmar De Vos, President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), is the sole candidate to run for the presidency of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federation (ASOIF), ASOIF announced in Lausanne, Switzerland on Tuesday.
Ingmar De Vos, also a member of the International Olympic Committee, was the only one who sent the nomination before the deadline of March 25. The 48th ASOIF General Assembly will elect the president in Birmingham, Britain, on April 9.
The third term of ASOIF President Francesco Ricci Bitti will end on December 31, 2024. Ingmar De Vos will take up the position on January 1, 2025, if he is elected by secret ballot. ■
