VIENTIANE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Laos and Cambodia pledged to further enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is on an official visit to Laos on March 25-26 at the invitation of his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone to enhance the friendly relations, traditional solidarity and comprehensive strategic partnership between the neighboring countries, according to a press release from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
During their talks, Sonexay said it is important to further elevate the longstanding relations between the two countries.
For his part, the Cambodian prime minister reaffirmed his country's continuing support and cooperation with Laos, especially for Laos' ASEAN chairmanship in 2024.
The two premiers witnessed the signing of a number of agreements to further enhance cooperations.
The two sides also signed memoranda of understanding related to clean and renewable energy projects, with a view of exporting electricity from Laos to Cambodia. ■
